“I need to learn more”- Baba Rahman


Ghana defender Baba Rahman has admitted that he needs to know more to enable him succeed in his time at Chelsea.

The player made his Barclays Premier League debut for the Blues on Saturday as they beat Aston Villa 2-0 at Stamford Bridge.

Rahman was played at left-back with the usually regular Cesar Azpilicueta going to the other side of the defence.

The reshuffle was effected due to the injury suffered by Serbian right-back Branislav Ivanovic on international duty.

Speaking to Chelsea’s official website after the match, Rahman stated the need for more grooming on his part in terms of his position. ” I think I still need to learn more and I want to improve game after game.”

Baba Rahman’s performance shown by statistics provided by stat database Squakwa was as follows: He won 4 out of 8 attempted tackles and won 1 out of 2 aerial duels, he recorded a successful passing rate of 81 percent and an average passing range of 16m.

Rahman also spoke on the match and said winning to break the recent poor run was extremely valuable to the team. “Everybody is happy and we are hoping things continue to go this way. It was a hard game but the most important thing was to get the win. We are looking forward to all the games and we just want to keep on winning.”

Chelsea will travel to Dynamo Kiev on Wednesday in the UEFA Champions League.
