Bukom Banku |
He has disclosed that he was expelled from school because he beat his ill-mannered teacher in his first year at Junior High School.
The incident did not only bring his Junior High School education to an abrupt end, but his attempts at getting formal education too.
This is how Bukom Banku narrated the incident to MzGee on the Hitz FM Entertainment Week [his ‘broken English’ has not been edited]:
“I went for school at Accra Royal around the James Town Police Station. But me I didn’t make it to Senior Secondary School. I was done at JHS 1. I did not continue through because I beat my teacher. My teacher misbehaved so I gave him some punches and I was sacked from the school but I don’t care because I don’t think school can do anything for me”.
However he says his currently doing everything to ensure his children attend school.
Bukom Banku who describes his kind of English language as Banacular (a fusion of English and Ga) has new A High Life song titled ‘Anyemi’.
He believes ‘Anyemi’, which talks about hypocrites in society, in will win him an award next year.
“This song ‘dei33’ by all means it will take award. Me I feature this two people: Fanny and King Jerry. I did this song because of the Bukom people, they laugh with you but their minds are not correct. If you have money, they spend it with you but if you face trouble, then you will see your mother,” he said.
Bukom Banku added that plans are advanced for the shooting of his new movie ‘Aburi Girls’.
“My film will be out this year, I’m writing the script. It would feature Ayitey Powers, Atta Chorkor and others from Bukom. Some girls in my area travel to Aburi for prostitution,” he said about his upcoming film.
Bukom Banku also revealed on the show that he is a music freak and named Shatte Wale, Screw Face and Castro as his favourite musicians.
He has promised to live up to billing at this year’s Old Skuulz Reunion scheduled for October, 10 at the independence square with his ‘Anyemi’ track.
