Porsche has responded to the wrongful death lawsuit filed by the late Paul Walker's daughter Meadow.
“As we have said before, we are very sad whenever anyone is hurt in a Porsche vehicle, but we believe the authorities’ reports in this case clearly establish that this tragic crash resulted from reckless driving and excessive speed,” a representative for Porsche said in a statement given to EW.
Paul Walker's 16-year-old daughter Meadow Rain Walker filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Porsche on Monday, alleging that the sports car her father was in when he was killed in November 2013 had several design flaws.
The 40-year-old Fast and the Furious star was a passenger in a Porsche a friend was driving when it hit a telegraph pole and burst into flames in in Santa Clarita, Los Angeles.
Deputies at the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said the car was engulfed in flames when they arrived, and both Walker and the driver were pronounced dead at the scene.
Meadow Rain is seeking unspecified damages for the faults, claiming that her father survived the impact of the crash, but the seat belt "snapped Walker’s torso back with thousands of pounds of force, thereby breaking his ribs and pelvis."
The lawsuit acquired by the US entertainment site further stated that the fire did not start until 1 minute 20 seconds after the crash, during which time Walker was still alive but he was unable to escape.
"Paul Walker breathed soot into his trachea while the Porsche Carrera GT burned," the lawsuit reads.
Speaking to E! News Meadow's lawyer Jeff Milam said: "The bottom line is that the Porsche Carrera GT is a dangerous car.
"It doesn't belong on the street. And we shouldn't be without Paul Walker or his friend, Roger Rodas."
Porsche has not yet publicly responded to the claims.
A message on Walker's Twitter page @RealPaulWalker on the day of the tragic incident read: "It's with a heavy heart that we must confirm Paul Walker passed away today in a tragic car accident..."
A statement on the actor's Facebook page read: "He was a passenger in a friend's car, in which both lost their lives. We appreciate your patience as we too are stunned and saddened beyond belief by this news.
"Thank you for keeping his family and friends in your prayers during this very difficult time. We will do our best to keep you apprised on where to send condolences."
A statement from Universal Pictures said: "All of us at Universal are heartbroken. Paul was truly one of the most beloved and respected members of our studio family for 14 years, and this loss is devastating to us, to everyone involved with the Fast and Furious films, and to countless fans.
"We send our deepest and most sincere condolences to Paul's family."
