The NDC parliamentary vetting committee which concluded vetting aspirants in the western region on Thursday has disqualified three aspirants while vetting and other processes has been put on hold in three other constituencies. Other persons have been given timelines to also present further and better particulars on Tuesday or risk been disqualified.
The three disqualified persons are, Bismark Gyening who was contesting the Bibiani Anwhiaso Bekwai seat, paving the way for Moses Kofi Armah to go unopposed, Owusu Ansah was also eyeing the Bodi seat with Sampson Ahi, clearing the path for Sampson Ahi to be popularly acclaimed come November 7th andMumuni Issa from the Akontombra Constituency who did not show up for the vetting without written notification to the vetting committee.
Incumbent MP for the Evalue Ajomor Dwira Tanakyi Kesse and his only contender Herbert Dickson Kuah will all have to put on hold their aspirations to contest the seat pending further investigations by the NDC’s national vetting committee.
Even though they were vetted, decision is yet to be taken by the national vetting committee on the petroleum minister Emmanuel Kofi Buah and his contender Mieza Mea Alleah battling theEllembelle seat, and Kwabena Mintah Akandoh and his contender for the Juabeso seat John Mbe.
At the end of the two day and night vetting processes in the region, chairman of the vetting committee, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo noted that the process was successful, though with few question marks.
He however noted that the caliber of persons who successfully completed the vetting processes has given him the assurance that the NDC will sail through in the 2016 general elections in the western region.
In all, out of the 74 persons who submitted their nomination forms on the 10th of September, 69 persons were vetted. 3 aspirants, Ghana’s ambassador to India, Sam Pee Yalley, contesting the Ahanta West Seat with George Kwame Aboagye, the deputy minister for Roads and Highways and MP for Wassa East, Isaac Adjei Mensah, and MP for the Bodi constituency Sampson Ahiwill be vetted at a later date after they wrote to seek permission to absent themselves.

Mumuni Issa from the Akontombra Constituency did not show up for the vetting without written notification to the vetting committee warranting his summary disqualification. Three females out of the 69 vetted aspirants from the Sekondi and Takoradi constituencies also successfully went through the process.
